* ACQUIRED IN 1951 FROM DAHSHUR, AREA OF THE MEMPHIS NECROPOLIS.

MEMPHIS WAS THE CAPITAL OF LOWER EGYPT BEFORE THE TWO LANDS WERE UNIFIED AROUND 3100 BCE BY THE PHARAOH MENA (AKA NARMER), WHO FOUND THE FIRST OF THIRTY DYNESTIES THAT WOULD RULE THE KINGDOM FOR THE NEXT 2500 YEARS.
